Olim Project
Ministry for the New Immigrants (Olim) that come back home to Israel – Established in 2014
Project Goals:
- To serve the needy
- To help “Olim” during their first steps in the land
- To show God’s Love through actions
- To provide a place of fellowship
- To show “Olim” their new homeland, its landscapes, history and traditions
God drew our attention to the large number of new immigrants (Olim) that come especially from the combat zone in Ukraine. We started providing food baskets, clothes, and discovering other small ways to help them with the adjustment to life in Israel. However, God is great and greater than anything we may face.
He always has a plan and we began to see and understand the magnitude of this program, as reflected in the following Passage from the Tanach:
“Now, I will send for many fishermen, says the Lord, and they shall fish for them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and out of the holes of the rocks” Jeremiah 16:16
Spiritual fruits
Today, ministry to new immigrants (Olim) is not only practical help and advice. Now the “Return to Zion” ministry team has launched spiritual support projects for new Israelis. The “Aleph Discussion Club”, in the form of an open club with treats and fun contests, introduces repatriates (Olim) to the basics of the Faith.
The initial Hebrew courses also offer examples from Scripture and encourages reflection on spiritual values. Regular meetings on Jewish holidays help then discover their biblical perspective and connection within their daily lives. Through this ministry, we have witnessed families who found God. Now, they participate in Shabbat services and bring others with them. Reflecting the very message contained in the following passage from the Brit Hadasha:
