Serving the Holocaust survivors

Ink that has faded from time, distorted by the skin that has grown old and wrinkled, can hardly hide a terrible picture from the extraneous eyes – a sequence number. Once they numbered hundreds of thousands, today there are only thousands of them and, every year, there are fewer and fewer of them.

The word “Catastrophe” in the Russian language may not sound frightening enough to convey all the horror and all the pain, since a lot of catastrophes happen every day. There is a special word in the dictionaries of the whole world for that Catastrophe – the “Holocaust”. It is the “final solution of the Jewish question” developed by pedantic Nazi criminals who decided to methodically wipe out all God’s people from the face of the earth, numbering their victims.

One of the tasks of the concentration camps was the destruction of human personality. When instead of a name there is a number, instead of clothes – striped pajamas, instead of love and compassion – senseless slave labor and humiliation every minute, it is easy to surrender, losing any remnants of faith.

The soldiers prepared food for them, gave them warm blankets, but, unexpectedly to everyone, tubes of the plainest lipstick were also found among the humanitarian aid. In a moment, the lips of these emaciated, exhausted from diseases, beaten, hopelessly sick women with numbers on their hands, shone with a bright red color of victory over the gray hell of oblivion. They felt again alive as real people.
Today there are not many of these old women and men, who get lost in our ever-rushing fussy world. Currently many of them live in the Jewish State of Israel, able to protect against anti-Semitism, poverty and humiliation. However, bitter roots of resentment and pain still break their hearts.
Our Ministry “Returned to Zion” could not stay away from the pain of these people. The Ministry “Returned to Zion” has already developed a long and warm relationship with the community of people who survived the horror of the Holocaust. Students of our music school often organize concerts and creative evenings. On Jewish holidays our team prepares festive events and banquets. Often partners from abroad join, eager to take part in the lives of these people. Just recently a group from Dallas lead by Neil Crabb joined an event for Holocaust Survivors with a genuine desire to serve them and to pray for them.

Furthermore, it is different in the way that very soon the last grains of sand in the hours of life of these people will turn into stones of obedience on the plains of eternal rest.

This ministry certainly requires prayers and support and we are inviting you to join!!
