Our Ministry by the Name “Return to Zion” together with the co-workers of our Music and Art-School “Rainbow of Sounds”, organized various activities for children ages 8 to 13 during their Hanukkah holidays (December 13-19, 2017). These activities were amid to reach out to those who have recently returned to Zion, the new immigrants.
The program consisted of creative activities: music lessons, drawing, media activities (making videos/editing pictures, programing YouTube). Each day classes were held with the children on the topic of Hanukkah and the history of the Jewish nation as well as virtues that are relevant for us today.
On Friday, December 15, 2017 the children and their parents were given the opportunity to join a trip to historical places that related to the holiday (Nazareth and Zippori).
At the end of the program all participants were able to show their talents along with the lighting of the last candle! At our congregational facility we welcomed guests into the sanctuary as the children presented all that they had learned over the holiday. They played piano, saxophone, danced and even demonstrated their art masterpieces, for which they were awarded participation certificates.
