Even though Israel is a warm country, and there is almost never snow in Haifa, nights during the wintertime are quite cool for most new immigrants. Besides there is no central heating in houses, and the price of electricity is quite tangible for those who have just arrived at their new destination. That is why, traditionally “Return to Zion” ministry organizes “warm” events for new immigrants – “a blanket for the family”. For sure the most important warmth for those who have returned to their homeland is attention and love, the assurance that they are needed and that they are finally at home.
