At the end of the kid’s summer vacation, from 19th till 23rd of August, the “Days of Creation” camp was held in the “Shavei Zion” congregation in Haifa, Israel. Within those four days, more than 50 boys and girls, most of whom are children of new immigrants, played and learned together. During this short time, kids studied what the natural science books, the books of Tanakh (Bible) and Brit HaKadosha (New Testament) talk about; the creation of Earth, the origin of the life, and God’s plan for our personal life.
They participated in crafts, spent time playing and making friends. From 9 am to 3 pm children were in the classes according to age groups, participating in creative circles – drawing/painting, working on a short film in the media studio and taking part in the especially popular culinary club.
This was not the first for this event organized by the Shavei Zion congregation and the Art school “Keshet Tsilim”, however, this time was even more special for the organizers. This time everything had was arranged independently, from preparation to project implementation, without participation of other funds and organizations. The feasible contribution was made possible thanks to community, ministers and volunteers.
On the 23rd of August, the fifth and final day, the children went with the counselors and leaders to the park and visited the pool. Such events, of course, are very important for the formation of a worldview, for building relationships and for the future of each child.
